Mexican Bishop Raul Vera is in the best traditional of the unofficial patron Saint of Central America the martyred Archbishop of El Salvador Cardinal Oscar Romero. The Cardinal was assassinated by government forces while saying Mass. Over 250,000 people from all over the world attended his funeral to honor his championship of human rights and the poor.
